Architecture & Monochrome – the assignment for day 12 of the Photo101 course offered by the WordPress Blogging University.
Today’s assignment was a bit more challenging than the previous ones.
Nevertheless is was worth the while considering the different moods which are triggered when viewing a photograph in color vs. black-and-white!
As you can see below, the building looks warm and inviting when viewed in color:
The same building in black-and-white using a blue filter looks quite daunting, mysterious and has a touch of a horror-house. This is further enhanced by the shadows of the tree-branches on the facade of the building:
